A beautiful late 1880s women's beaded jacket top in black and purple. It was handmade and features a floral print black fabric, fold over beaded triangle shapes at the top of the arms, lots of bead work, and a purple collar/insert piece that has a sheer beaded overlay. The cuff inner lining is also purple.
Measurements taken flat:
Armpit to armpit - 16.5"
Length from base of purple collar in mid back - 15"
Condition: I have lightened the photos to show the details. The colors are darker as in the first photo. Given the age, there are numerous condition issues. A tear at the side seam of the outer layer of black only, missing and torn bead work on the edges mostly, several tears in the sheer piece (one is shown with an arrow) and the other large one in the last photo. Noticeable soiling of the inside of the cuffs.
